Timken Expands Offering of Condition Monitoring Products
Machine Evaluator Series Highlights Complete Portfolio

CANTON, Ohio, Aug. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- As part of an ongoing strategy to offer greater friction management solutions(SM) to its customers, The Timken Corporation has expanded its offering of condition monitoring products to include a machine evaluator series, along with a series of continuous monitoring devices and online systems.

The machine evaluator, a handheld instrument used in a wide array of industrial applications, has been designed with a comprehensive range of functions to help detect bearing damage and inadequate lubrication conditions. The results are automatically evaluated and displayed on a green/yellow/red condition scale. Additionally, the instrument has advanced diagnosis capabilities to detect common machine faults, such as imbalance, misalignment and structural weakness. The instrument also can be upgraded to include single- and two-plane balancing, and laser alignment.

"At Timken, we understand the importance of maximizing equipment uptime through cost-effective solutions," said Daniel J. Szoch -- product manager of related products for Timken's Industrial Group. "This is yet another example of how we are moving beyond the bearing to provide a complete line of friction management solutions for our customers."

Along with the machine evaluator, Timken has added four other series of handheld instruments, continuous monitoring devices and online systems. These new monitoring products are an addition to Timken's line of condition monitoring solutions, which includes StatusCheck(TM), a wireless system designed to detect and monitor excessive levels of vibration and temperature. Timken's offering of condition monitoring solutions provides customers with a one-stop shop for all their friction management solutions needs. Timken products are backed by highly trained customer service and technical support personnel.

"When you select Timken, you gain access to an industry leader with more than 100 years of experience in industrial applications," said Szoch. "Each design and every service call is driven by one thing: exceeding the expectations of our customers."
