Timken Makes Single-Point Lubricator Maintenance Easier

CANTON, Ohio, Nov. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Timken has created an online tracking tool to assist customers in monitoring maintenance of their Timken single-point lubricators as well as, making ordering replacements easier.

"Plant maintenance professionals are looking for ways to improve productivity," said David A. Pierman, product manager - lubricants. "Having an easy-to-use Internet tool is another example of how Timken is reaching beyond bearings to provide friction management solutions for our customers."

After purchasing a Timken single-point lubricator, customers can log onto http://www.timken.com/spl and sign up to receive an email reminder when lubricator replacement is imminent. Customers will also receive important ordering information.

Registering a single-point lubricator using the online tool consists of four easy steps:

1. Customers register their name and their company's name, address and email address.

2. Customers indicate the single-point lubricator model they have purchased.

3. Customers provide key information, such as the model number; discharge setting; whether it's new or a replacement; date installed; quantity installed; type of grease in the lubricator; where the lubricator was purchased; and where they are using the lubricator.

4. The Web site notifies customers that an email will be sent to them when it is time to replace the lubricator.

To help prevent premature failures, Timken gas- or electromechanical- powered, single-point lubricators deliver periodic grease or oil to bearings, chains, guideways and other industrial components. The G-Power or M-Power units can be filled with either Timken-formulated lubricants or more than 200 other types of commercial greases. Lubrication periods can last from one month to one year.
